Analyst report pushed up Twitter stock price

Twitter stock price soaring after analysts projected a 10% growth of active users in 2018. The  price rose to $26 dollars last Friday, a new high since late 2015. The analysts further suggested "investing in social media company is one of the best ideas in 2018".


US army base pulled Chinese security cameras

Due to "negative perception" posed on, US Army decided to pull five Hikvision surveillance cameras from its base at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Chinese government owns 42 percent of Hikvision and concerns are raised on possible spying practice if continuing using the cameras.

FCC to investigate false alarm on Hawaii

After a terrifying false alarm that a missile was approaching Hawaii, FCC is now investigating this incident and says Hawaiian authorities "did not have reasonable safeguards or process controls in place to prevent the transmission of a false alert."


One in six Americans owns a smart speaker

Smart speakers are the hottest tech gadget on the market. According to NPR and Edison Research, 16% of Americans own a smart speaker of certain kind. The number is 128% higher than the earlier year. The study indicates Amazon Echo is the bestselling one with around 70 percent market share and Google Home with 25 percent.

A new legislation to ban US government from using Chinese phones

Texas Representative Mike Conaway introduced new bill last week called Defending U.S. Government Communication Act to ban US government from using Huawei and ZTE phones, which are allegedly bringing security risks by sharing information with Chinese government. He says on his website that using these phones "would be inviting Chinese surveillance into all aspects of our lives”. This new bill sees a continuation of AT&T's latest withdrawal from its deal with Huawei, who would sell their new flagship smartphones on the carrier channel per previous agreement.
