Assange granted Ecuador citizenship

Julian Assange, the Wikileaks founder that has been living in the Ecuadorian embassy in London since 2012, is now granted Ecuadorian citizenship. Yet it is still unknown when Assange will be able to vacate from his current residence as UK government does not recognize his diplomatic status for jumping bail in 2012.

 

Dropbox filed confidentiality for IPO

 

According to Bloomberg,  Dropbox, the San Francisco-based cloud company has filed confidentiality for IPO. It is rumored to go public in early 2018 with a valuation of over $10 billion.

 

Facebook will show less ads and media content

Facebook is changing its News Feed algorithm to show less publisher content. The new measure will significantly increase proportions of "relevant content to helping users have more meaningful social interactions" at the expense of "reducing time wasted on the platform" due to passively viewing ads and videos that automatically appear on the News Feed.

 

Snap's redesign reaped negative reviews

After releasing the new design for Snapchat, which mixes Stories in between private chats, the first wave of adopters gives a sound 83% negative ratings on App Store. The stagnating revenue prompted the company to resort to such drastic change, after reporting a record loss of $443 million in Q3 of last year.
