Another Kodak Moment?

Kodak is launching its own ICO. In collaboration with Wenn Digital, the old photo giant is creating KodakCoin, " a photo-centric cryptocurrency" that will "empower photographers and agencies to take greater control in image rights management". Official ICO will take place on Jan 31, 2018. Its stock price sees a huge surge, popping up 117%  to $6.80 at the closing of market.

 

Huawei's CEO rage at AT&T on CES

After reaching a deal with AT&T to sell the Mate 10 Pro through carrier channel, the telecommunication giant unexpectedly pulled out the day before.  At the end of a rehearsed keynote speech for launching Huawei's latest flagship smartphone Mate 10 Pro to the US market at CES, Richard Yu, Huawei's sitting CEO, went off-script and "passionately" addressed the elephant in the room, pointing at the mistrust that his company had been subjected to.  The break of the deal is a big setback for Huawei's after many years effort to trail-blaze into US market.

 

Vivo launch first in-display fingerprint sensor

Vivo, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, beat Apple and Samsung to first incorporating in-display fingerprint into a smartphone. Vivo is using Synaptics optical sensor to achieve this function, replacing physical button to verify owner's identity through fingerprint matching.

 

Alphabet, Facebook and Twitter summoned by Congress

These tech giants will be called before the lawmakers to answer for terrorist content on their website. The hearing will be on Jan 17th to review the measures these social medias are undertaking to combat the spread of extremist propaganda over the Internet.

 

The new Samsung flagship to launch at MWC

Samsung's newest flagship phones will not debut at CES this year. The new Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be launched at the Mobile World Congress in late February with detail information on release date and price. The annual trade show will be held in Barcelona, Spain this year.
